After releasing my pattern booklet for the Christmas ornaments, I’m back to working on my daughter’s striped sampler blanket. Let’s hope I can get it done in time to give it to her for Christmas! Here’s what it looks like right now.

I pretty much love the most recent pattern row. I’ve seen things like it that have lots of open space. Since this blanket is meant to be cozy, I was wanting a row with small flowers that would be simple and lean towards warmth. Here’s what I came up with:

And, for good measure, here’s how the flowers are made:
- Start with a solid bed of a couple rows of stitches.
- Make a row of hdcs, and another row of scs.
- The pattern row: Make a few scs to start; then repeat:
