This is the stitch I used in the pocket pillow described here.
Start with a multiple of 5 + 2 hdcs. Then it’s a 4 row repeat:
- (WS) hdc in 1st st, hdc in 3rd loop of each hdc to end, hdc in last st, turn.
- (RS) hdc in 1st st,
[hdc 2 rows below, 4 hdcs current row] across,
hdc in last st, turn. - repeat row 1.
- (RS) hdc in 1st st,
[2 hdcs, hdc 2 rows below, 2 hdcs] across,
hdc in last st, turn.
After the last row 3, I ended with:
- Across the top: sc in 1st st,
[2 scs, hdc 2 rows below, 2 scs] across,
3 scs in last st, - Down the side: sc in each row,
- Across the bottom: 3 scs in 1st st,
[2 scs, hdc 2 rows below, 2 scs] across, - Up the side: 3 scs in 1st st, sc in each row, 2 scs in last st, join to top with sl st.
