Last year I wrote about an ornament I’d made in a previous year, that I’d more-or-less reproduced. It’s fine, but it was really hard to block. Anyway, I’ve decided to do one similar, but a bit bigger. This one is (guess what?) easier to block. Mission accomplished.

So here’s the pattern for your holiday enjoyment.

ch7, join with sl st in 1st ch to make a ring.

Round 1: ch3 (count as first dc), work 2 more dcs into the ring,
*ch3, work 3 dcs into ring*, rep between *’s 3 more times,
ch3, join w sl st in top of beginning ch3. 
(5 groups of 3 dcs with ch-3 between each dc group)

Round 2: ch3 (count as first dc), dc in each of next 2 dcs,
*ch3, dc in next chsp, ch3, dc in each of next 3 dcs*,
rep between *’s 3 more times,
ch3, dc in next chsp, ch3, join w sl st in top of beg ch3. 
(5 groups [3 dcs, ch3, dc, ch3])

Round 3: ch3 (count as first dc), dc in each of next 2 dcs,
*ch3, dc in next chsp, ch3, (sk next dc), dc in next chsp,
ch3, dc in each of next 3 dcs*, rep between *’s 3 more times;
ch3, dc in next chsp, ch3, (sk next dc), dc in next chsp,
ch3, join w sl st in top of beg ch3. 
(5 groups of [3 dcs, ch3, dc, ch3, dc, ch3])

Round 4:  ch1,
*sc in next dc (middle of the group of 3 dcs), ch3, sk next dc, dc next chsp,
ch4, (sk next dc), dc in next chsp, ch4, (sk next dc), dc in next chsp,
ch3, sk next dc*, rep between *’s 4 more times, sl st in beg sc.
(5 points of [ch3, dc, ch4, dc, ch4, dc, ch3] with a sc between each point)

Round 5: *ch3, (sk next chsp), dc in next dc, ch4, tr in next chsp,
ch4, sk next dc, tr in next chsp, ch4, dc in next dc, ch3, sc in next sc*,
rep between *’s 4 more times.
(5 points of [ch3, dc, ch4, tr, ch4, tr, ch4, dc, ch3] w/sc between points)

Round 6: sl st in next chsp, ch3, dc in same chsp,
*dc in next dc, work 4 dcs in next chsp, dc in next dc,
