Still in Testing, But Look What’s Coming

Recognize my living room? No, I suppose you don’t. No one ever really comes here. Besides… the main feature here is the afghan I just made for (yes, really) myself. Yes! I made something for myself! Also for my husband, because he happens to love it.

The pattern is due to be published in September. It won’t look exactly like this as I’m made some little improvements along the way.

It’s patterned after the one I made for my daughter uh… couple years ago, I think? This time I chose colors that went nicely in my living room, but I did try to preserve the theme, as I’d already thought to name it “Lake House Afghan” (as opposed to the “Beach House Afghan“, and the “Wedding Bouquet Afghan”, which I’m never gonna publish, because I just remembered how much I hate testing. So never again. Really) So I switched out 2 of the blues for what I figured was a sandy color, and a different, non-grayish, blue.

I feel good about the wrong side looking pretty OK. In fact, the stripe with the Diamond Stripe has a surprisingly attractive WS. Who knew?

I’m adding some appliques to the WS of the one stripe where I’m really unhappy about it. I can take my time with those, though. With no ball of yarn hanging off, we’re free to use it before they’re done.

That’s it. I just wanted to show this puppy off.
